The Complete AMC Clinical Candidate Guide: How to Use OSCE Revisions

The AMC Clinical candidate guide is the free map of how OSCE Revisions works for the Australian exam — 20 stations, eTG/RACGP/PBS framing, pass 9 of 14 scored stations, and the loop from a graded attempt to a Professor debrief. No signup is required to read this page or download the PDF.

This is a platform walkthrough. Confirm live rules on the AMC clinical examination page before you sit. Start from the AMC clinical exam hub when you want the commercial landing page.

Sitting PLAB 2 or MLA OSCE? Those are UK circuits. Use PLAB 2 preparation or MLA OSCE. Do not practise NICE or BNF pathways as if they were AMC — that is one of the fastest ways to lose marks.

Who this guide is for

This guide is for IMGs on the Standard Pathway who have passed (or are about to sit) the AMC CAT MCQ and are preparing for the AMC Clinical Exam.

It is not for PLAB 2, UKMLA CPSA, or a UK school OSCE. Unlike NICE, CKS, BNF, NHS or GMC pathways, AMC management, dosing and counselling on this platform cite Australian sources by name — RACGP, eTG (Therapeutic Guidelines), PBS, and related Australian bodies.

What AMC Clinical looks like on the platform

The AMC library is separate and localised: 1,800+ Australian-localised stations (live count 1,894, tagged AMC only) and 1,900+ AMC notes (live 1,909). Start Here opens on a dedicated Australian Core. Exam tips on the AMC enrichment set are 8,000+.

What you actually get

Learn

  • Start Here — Australian-localised Core, ordered as examiners build presentations up.
  • Frameworks — structure for history, counselling, examination and management in an Australian workplace.
  • Notes — 1,900+ AMC notes, six view modes, spaced-repetition rating. Management cites eTG/RACGP/PBS, not NICE.
  • Exam Tips — 8,000+ AMC-enriched tips, plus Tip of the Day.
  • Clinical Skills150 guides (40 / 30 / 30 / 50). Use Australian reasoning in management and prescribing stations.
  • Study Essentials — Must Know / Should Know / Advanced tiers.

  • Voice or Text — different AI patients, same case, separate attempt pools.
  • Build a Station — custom AMC-track stations.

Review

  • Session ReviewAMC global rating X/7, Station pass / Station fail at ≥4/7, 13 AMC domains (Approach to the patient, History, …, Patient counselling and education).
  • AI ProfessorDiscuss with Professor with that transcript and rating loaded. Free/trial: 10 messages/day. Public page: AI Tutor.
  • Personalised revision notes — paid, on-demand, checked against current Australian guidance in the generator prompt.

Simulate

  • Mock Exam — 20 stations, 16 assessed, 4 rest, 2 pilots, 14 scored. Results show X/14 and Pass mark: 9 of 14. Pause between stations and during reading, not mid-consultation.
  • Analytics — score, pass rate, weak specialties, domain trends.

What one station looks like, end to end

  1. Read the brief — 2 minutes outside the room. Decide the Australian approach here.
  2. Choose Voice or Text.
  3. Eight-minute assessment — no viva. At zero: “Time up. Please leave the station.”
  4. Grading — 13 domains, 7-point scale, global rating. Station pass at ≥4/7.
  5. Discuss with Professor — “Where did I lose marks and why?” after the station.
  6. Optional paid note — generate, then retry.

Say the Australian source out loud when management is the task: “I would follow eTG for this” is a mark-winning habit, not decoration.

Frequently asked questions

What is the AMC Clinical candidate guide?

It is a free, no-signup walkthrough of OSCE Revisions for the Australian Medical Council Clinical Exam: the 20-station circuit, eTG/RACGP/PBS framing, 13-domain marking, pass at 9 of 14 scored stations, and how to practise, get graded, and debrief with the AI Professor.

Do I need an account to download the AMC guide PDF?

No. The PDF and this page are free without signup. Signing up unlocks Australian-localised practice, not the guide.

What is the AMC Clinical pass mark?

You need a pass on 9 or more of the 14 scored stations. There is no averaging. Each station passes on a global rating of 4 or more out of 7. Confirm the current standard on the AMC clinical examination page.

Is the AMC library the same as the UK library?

No. AMC content is a separate, Australian-localised set (1,800+ stations and 1,900+ notes tagged AMC only). Management and prescribing are framed to eTG, RACGP and the PBS — not NICE or the BNF.

What is free after signup?

3 voice + 3 text AI Attempts and a curated preview. Verify email for 24 hours of the full AMC library and mocks. Attempts stay 3+3. AI Professor is 10 messages a day on free and trial. Personalised revision notes are paid.

How is an AMC station graded on OSCE Revisions?

AMC uses 13 domains on a 7-point scale and a global rating. A station passes at global rating ≥4/7. Session Review shows the AMC global rating and Station pass / Station fail. Then Discuss with Professor to debrief that transcript.
